Hello! Welcome to a new week!
How was your weekend? Do anything fun? It was a rather dreary weekend here … cloudy, rainy, damp … probably my least favorite type of weather … BUT, that didn’t stop us from running around as usual! We don’t have any family in the area, and we have yet to find a babysitter for Livi, so we had a Saturday date night with all three of us! I know what you’re thinking … how does THAT work? Honestly, I don’t have a good answer for you … Livi is just a great baby! The trick is to get her slightly worn out before we head to dinner (a little hide and seek with daddy always does the trick), then as soon as we sit down we feed her, put her in her stroller (it reclines!), and she’s out! Then …. it’s date time!
As I said above … the weather was, well, less than ideal … and on those nights, I always default to cozy and comfy. BUT, cozy and comfy doesn’t have to mean frumpy! In fact, I’ve always thought it’s far more alluring to leave something to the imagination. Sexiness should be subtle.
Show some skin in an unexpected way … throw on a pair of culottes with heels to give just a peek of skin … I especially love these ones with the side slit along the bottom hem. And rather than low-cut tops or a mini-skirt up to there, play up your femininity in a more sophisticated way … think ruffles, bell sleeves, and other embellishments. I am loving ruffled sweaters right now … they’re like a big warm hug in the changing weather, and they they’re full of possibility! Depending upon how you style it, it can be fun and flirty (love this one and this one), or structured and sophisticated (love this one and this one). And for you ruffle-phobes out there … this one is gorgeous if you’re looking for something really simple and subtle.
Simple accessories let the sweater take center stage, and the bright lip adds a color pop to an otherwise neutral palette!
So, what’s your comfy, cozy date-night go-to look? Send me a note, or leave a comment!
As always, you can shop my look below! Until Wednesday ….
xoxo, K
