Hello!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend … do anything fun?
We caught up on homeschool work from Friday, worked on Livi’s upcoming science fair project (so proud of her), went beachcombing, and baked cookies! Grammy’s birthday is in a few days, and the girls thought it would be an excellent idea to send her some homemade sweetness. Plus, one of the best Christmas gifts we gave this year was to grandpa: a year-long cookie subscription box! While this put me on the hook to bake cookies and send them every month, I’m honestly excited to spend the next year baking a new cookie each month! We generally fall back on a few favorites — old-fashioned chocolate chip or peanut butter blossoms — so it will be fun to experiment with new recipes!
So, after doing all that work and creating beautiful cookie subscription and gift boxes, I thought I should share! Valentines Day is around the corner, and a short subscription, or even one-time box, would be a thoughtful sweet gift for a teacher, friend, co-worker.
I also created a sweet recipe card to include in the boxes — if the recipient likes them they should be able to make more, no?
If you’d like to create your own gift box for family or friends, I included a downloadable and pin-able recipe card. Pin the one to the right, or download the card here.
Before printing be sure to (1) use white cardstock, (2) select “portrait” orientation, and (3) choose 3.5 x 5 in for the photo size (not paper size).
After it prints, carefully cut it out along the outside edge.
I wrapped the cookies in unbleached parchment paper and tied it together with basic twine. Feel free to add in a sprig of green or dried flowers too! Finally, tuck the recipe card in underneath the twine!
I recommend you either hand deliver your box or ship them overnight to guarantee freshness 🙂
Wishing you all a great week, and check back for my New Year’s reset post and a new Essential 25 look!
