Hello! Welcome to the Essential 25 Lookbook! If you’re new here, this is where I take the 25 essential wardrobe pieces every woman should own (check those out here), and build a variety a outfits and looks for every occasion! If you’re one of my regular readers, you know the drill, and welcome back!
Today I decided to create two looks for you because this shift dress is so versatile, it’s easy to use as the foundation for a variety of looks, regardless of occasion.
On the left, we have your pretty, poised, power look, that also happens to be incredibly comfortable and easy-going. Flats, anyone? Has comfort ever looked so sleek, sophisticated, and sharp?
And on the right we have the low-maintenance, care-free spring day throw on and go look. One of my favorite things about this shift dress is that it truly is a stand-alone powerhouse … there’s no layering or matching necessary, you can just toss it on alone, and it looks chic. Add some easy slide on sandals, your silk scarf for a pop of color, and keep your makeup and hair minimal. I’d toss my hair in a loose bun and throw on some soft lip gloss and go.

I also wanted to give you a little preview of what’s coming soon — as always you can count on more E25 looks (I try to do a couple/week), but I will also be putting out a workout capsule as well. The spring is a wonderful time to refresh your workout clothes and replace shabby, well-worn items with new pieces. I expect to have that out for you sometime next week! I’ll also be starting a new series called “Building an E25 Wardrobe: The Essentials”. When I created the E25 Capsule Collection I was focused on showcasing the key classics that all women should own. I did not, however, take the time to provide a wide range of options at various price points. So with this new series, I’ll create a blog post for each of the essential 25 pieces, and provide you with a whole host of options so you can do as I suggest in my original E25 post: patiently look for the highest quality pieces your budget will allow. I look forward to helping you create a classic wardrobe full of high quality pieces that can be worn for years!
