Happy Hump Day Everyone!!
I hope you’re all having a great week so far … only a few more days and it’s a three-day weekend! Yaaaaaaas!! 🙂 I’m far too excited about this … no, I don’t have an amazing trip planned … I have … wait for it … sleep planned! A very rare luxury these days. Well, and some nice leisurely strolls with Jacob and Livi, maybe brunch, and some wine.
Speaking of strolls — Livi has got this walking thing DOWN …, actually it’s more like running. I don’t know what happened, she could barely crawl, and now I have to literally chase her down for diaper changes! On the weekends, we like to get her out to the park in a big open area where she can explore … and last weekend, she explored … A LOT! Her poor little feet had blisters on the back from her sneakers 🙁 Even though she’s had them a while, I guess they’d never really gotten broken in because up until now she couldn’t walk!! Totally did not think about that … new mommy, still learning!!
One of my favorite mommy uniforms — skinny jeans, sweater, and flats — was perfect for the occasion. Polished, but above all comfy. And, well, necessary … flats are kind of essential when you’re chasing around a toddler 🙂
AND, as I’ve said before, I’m so ready for fall! But, I’ve always faced a bit of a dilemma with fall — I love white and other light-colored neutrals, and I just simply refuse to give them up during the fall and winter months. Despite what some people may say, I do believe you can safely wear white after Labor Day — you can wear it year-round without being a fashion victim! I promise!
It’s all about how you style it … and there are two primary considerations: fabric type, and how you pair it with the other pieces in your wardrobe. As we transition into the cooler months, swap out floaty, gauzy fabrics for thicker more structured ones and chunky knits. And unless you’re going for a full-on monochrome look (side note: there’s absolutely nothing more chic than head-to-toe white … nothing), pair it with darker, richer colors such as olive, wine, navy, or the gorgeous gold color I featured in my last post here. And of course, you can never go wrong with classic black.
To prove my point, I’ll be launching a series next week on how to wear white after Labor-Day. Over the next several weeks, at least once a week, I’ll feature a key piece in white — and I’ll show you how amazingly versatile this neutral can be even through the fall and winter months.
In the meantime, you can shop this look below! I highly recommend you snatch up a striped sweater like this — I included several options below. It’s such a versatile piece — worn on it’s own or used for layering, it’s a staple that every woman should own. And these shoes … are on sale for under $75! Again, probably because they’re white … BUT, once you catch my posts on how to wear white after Labor Day, you’ll be able to enjoy these babies year round!! Unless you live in North Dakota or something, then your feet might actually freeze 😉
Have a great rest of the week you guys 🙂
xoxo, K
