Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
Now we start the holiday countdown … which means, if you’re a procrastinator like myself and have yet to do any Christmas shopping, you have only a few weeks to pull it all together!
So, in an effort to help you out, this week I’ll be posting a series of gift guides, which should give you ideas for all the people on your list. Today, I’m starting out with hostess gifts because I know many of you will be attending holiday parties over the coming weeks, and a gracious guest never shows up empty handed!
the foodie
The Fail-Safe — you can never go wrong with a great bottle of wine or scotch. But rather than show up with a naked bottle, keep it festive with a luxe bag or box. Also love this bag, and it’s only $15.
The Cookbook — you can stick with a classic, like this icon, or if you know your host has a special interest, make it more personal — so she’s a wine connoisseur, this one will turn her into a wine-food pairing expert. Or she’s all about pie … this one is sure to please.
The Cheese Knife Set — anyone who entertains, like ever, will appreciate one of these… and this is the perfect foundation from which you can build a gift customized to your budget. The knife set won’t set you back much, but if you’re feeling particularly generous, add in a cutting board (love this monogram one), and/or a cheese gift set.
the sweet tooth
The Old-Fashioned, with a Twist — who doesn’t love good old-fashioned s’mores!? Ummm… no one. And this adorable little box celebrates the classic, but adds a gourmet twist.
The Christmas Classic — I can’t remember a Christmas without chocolate and peppermint … there’s a reason this combo makes a debut every holiday season … because it’s that good, and this bark is no exception.
The Fireside Favorite — It’s the stuff of Christmas movie magic … you, and the people you love, all curled up by the fire sipping on hot cocoa … does it get any better? This little gift box makes it super fun and easy to make, no mass-produced powder mix necessary.
the homebody
The Entertaining Guide — this little book is the modern-entertainer’s best friend. It’s full of how-tos, personal essays, and recipes … and it teaches you how to do it all in style.
The Ambiance Expert — who doesn’t love candles … they create the most beautiful atmosphere, no matter where you are… and if you add the intoxicating smells of Tocca to the mix, like this one, it’s heaven. Tocca Florence is my go-to perfume, and the fact that they make it in a candle too is so good!
The Comfort Creator — every homebody needs a luxurious-feeling throw casually draped over her chaise … there’s nothing better for those cold winter nights than a super-soft personal blanket to snuggle up under. Also love this one, on sale for under $35.
the acquaintance
The Catch-All — If it’s a Christmas gathering, what could be more appropriate than a Christmas ornament? If you’re like my family, you keep every ornament you’ve ever received year after year … it gives the Christmas tree so much character! Everyone loves a unique ornament … extra points if you do a little digging and find an ornament that will have some special meaning to the hostess.
The Personal Touch — so you’re not best friends with the hostess … that’s okay, that doesn’t mean you can’t add a personal touch. You know the hostess’s name, right? A monogram key chain (this one is only $20) is pretty, functional, and thoughtful.
The Table Saver — who doesn’t enjoy a drink while hanging out on the couch? Uh, everyone. So, every hostess on the planet will appreciate these beauties … you can never have enough coasters lying around.
And if all else fails … as in, you simply don’t have time to order a gift, or head out to Williams Sonoma, you can’t go wrong with a classic poinsettia … just add some ribbon or twine and a festive gift tag, and you’re golden.
Stay tuned for my next gift guide on Wednesday — anything and everything you need for her — mom, sister, aunt, bestie, niece … I’ve got you covered.
Have a great Monday you guys!
xoxo, K
