Hello! Welcome to a brand new week!
Today’s post combines one of my favorite things (high-waisted trousers) with a tie-neck top in the color of the moment (mustard), and a colorful, candy-stripe bag (definitely something new for me!).
There is seriously nothing more flattering on a woman than high-waisted trousers … they elongate everything! Add some heels and people might actually mistake you for Giselle (well, close anyways!). It’s that elongating effect that makes me reach for the full trouser version of this pant all year-long. I love the sailor button detail of these, and you can also snatch them up in a more modern, cropped skinny version here.
And this top — obsessed and in love! The color, the tie neck, the pleating detail — and it’s so comfortable! And it’s also incredibly versatile … it would look just as fabulous with jeans, or layered under a sweater dress.
And this purse …. I’ve actually had it quite a while, but I’ve never really felt comfortable carrying it! For some reason the bright colors have always just scared me a little! I know, ridiculous. Which is why I incorporated it into this look! For some reason, it just worked really well with this top — so I went for it 🙂 Unfortunately, this particular one is no longer available, but there are a few other options out there — actually really love this one (of course, it’s a splurge), this one is under $350, this one is under $250, and this one will get you under $175.
And for the rest of the look, I kept it to some of my classic staples — classic pumps, a sleek watch, tortoise-shell studs, and cat eyes.
