Happy Friday Everyone!
Today’s post is all about summer whites, with a pop of red! In my opinion, nothing looks fresher in the spring and summer months than crisp white. It’s light, bright, and cool. Add if you add a pop of color, you’ll get noticed — add red and you’ll be unforgettable.
When I found these gorgeous red suede shoes I just had to purchase them. They’re an outfit maker. Sure, they’re bright, which is a departure from my typical work uniform. But, even brights can be elegant if worn in small doses.
As you’ll likely see, the classic button- down shirt is a closet staple for me. It’s timeless and every woman should have one in her closet — it goes with everything. Pair it with a chunky gold necklace as I did here, or wear it alone for a true minimalist look.
I chose a high waist pencil skirt to keep the look streamlined and professional. The high waist is one of my favorite looks, for both skirts and trousers — it’s so feminine.
I was also excited to add these gorgeous leather knots to my look. They’re really beautiful, and much like a leather tassel or fur pom, it’s a fun, simple way to add a bit of color to your look.
Versatility
Although I chose to make red the focal point here, the white button-down and pencil skirt is a wonderful canvas on which you can build a wide variety of looks. Unbutton the top a bit, add some strappy heels, and you’re good to go for date night. Grab a silk scarf, structured handbag, and some wedges and it’s brunch time! Or dress it down with a leather jacket and some booties for girl’s night. There are endless possibilities with these two staples.
Speaking of staples, be sure to visit the blog on Sunday for a post on the four casual items every woman should have in her closet – they’re all classics, and if you don’t have one of each, you need one!
yours, Kristin
