SHOULDERS & SLIDES

This year, I went for classic comfort on the 4th — with a look that I can wear all summer long. Sure, open shoulders and slides are all the rage this season, but really, this look is pretty timeless.

The simplicity of white poplin, coupled with the more streamlined cut of this top take it from trendy to timeless and sophisticated. And I’m so upset with myself for failing to capture a shot of one of this top’s best details — it’s button-up back! It’s a small detail, but those are the things that take a plain-Jane top from so-so to covetable.

And these slides, in a poppy red, exude a casual elegance that belies their trendiness. Adding my signature silk scarf, and we have the perfect casual, yet refined, summer look

Just a few more things I’m absolutely loving in this post — my bag (which, if you follow me, you’ve seen before), but I just can’t say enough about it — it’s AMAZING — a casual carry-all, briefcase, mini-diaper bag, gym bag … done, done, and done.
