Spring has to be the most beautiful time of year in the Washington, DC area. It has been unseasonably cool this spring, but the flowers are still blooming and there’s an explosion of color — fluffy pink, white, and purple blooms are on every corner! Although I tend to gravitate towards neutrals, I can’t help but get swept up in all the color!
Still, I like to keep it simple and elegant. You won’t find me in head to toe blooms. This scarf was the perfect compromise. The colors are vibrant but the print is sophisticated and balanced with the white background. I also tried to keep the rest of my outfit fairly basic so as to not compete with the scarf, but also add a bit of interest with the side slits on my top and ankle tie espadrilles. Really though, it was the scarf that created a lasting impression.
I wore this outfit out on a walk to grab coffee with Jacob and Olivia, and two women literally stopped in their tracks and said, “wow, look at her beautiful scarf!” What a great way to start the day, and put a smile on my face!
yours, Kristin
p.s. Since I truly value versatility with my clothes, and I love to help you think about how to get the most out of all the items in your closet, stay tuned for my upcoming Memorial Day post this Friday. I’ll be wearing the exact same top and belt from this post! See below for a preview of the look 🙂
