Hello Everyone!
I hope you’ve been having a good week so far! If you missed my last post (you can see it here), it was all about the four casual classics that all women should own. Well, the focus of this post is on another item all women should own — it’s just not always casual, so it didn’t make the cut for my last post!
I actually believe a woman should have a scarf with her at all times – if not around her neck, or worn in the various other ways I share with you here, folded up in her bag. There’s no other single item that can add instant polish to an outfit … any outfit. As you can see from the pictures here, it’s also incredibly versatile!
The headband. I adore this look – and it works for hair of all lengths! When you’re hair gets longer you have the option of wearing your hair down or up in a ponytail or bun, and using the scarf either as a headband (a look I love with a bun), or wrap the scarf around the base of your tail or bun. That means if you have long hair there are over three options to use the scarf just in your hair alone!
The true scarf. Again, endless ways to style the scarf this way too. Drape it over your shoulders, wear it around your neck long with the ends flowing, or double wrap it for a choker effect like I did here.
The belt. This is a bit of a throwback to the 80s, but I tend to think it’s something that never really went out of style. It looks so chic with high waisted skirt or slacks, and you can’t go wrong pairing it with your favorite pair of jeans.
The bag embellishment. This is such a simple, fuss-free way to add some color to your outfit. Tie the scarf on the bag handle, or wrap the scarf repeatedly around your the handle to give the look of a whole new bag. I love the look of the flowing colors here, and generally just tie a loose knot around the bag handle and let the ends blow in the wind!
I’d love to hear how you use your favorite scarf — any other ideas on how to style it??
yours, Kristin
