It’s Hump Day! Yaaaas … half way there!
Ok, so, I’ve mentioned several times now that I’m so excited for fall. Aside from the D.C. heat that kicks my butt every single morning, this dress is one of the primary reasons why fall is calling my name. This color, anyone? I’m in love.
But I’m always in love with the colors that start popping up around this time each year. I love the light and bright colors of summer too, but there’s something so rich and elegant about fall colors — they evoke such warm feelings from my childhood… running around in the leaves, football games (yes, I’m a mid-westerner, we love our football), caramel apples, and the cool crisp temps that just beg for a big cozy sweater.
And the best part about this dress (currently 50% off – sale price + extra 40% at checkout), outside of its perfect fall olive color, is the silhouette. When worn alone, it’s the perfect summer dress. Add a blazer (this one!) or cropped sweater (will be buying this one), plus some suede booties (adore these), and this dress will take you all the way into the winter months. Besides being comfortable and beautiful, I’m always a fan of something that can be worn through multiple seasons — more bang for your buck! You can also snatch up a few more great ones here (print option, also 50% off!) and here (slightly formal option) 🙂
For now, it’s hot, so the extras are still pure summer. I’ve mentioned my love affair with block heels before … add some fringe to the mix and you’ll capture my heart forever. These shoes … amazing and so comfortable (and currently on sale!), I could walk around in them for hours.
To be honest, this necklace, was the foundation for my entire look here. I’ve been wanting a structured wire choker for a while, but I haven’t been able to find one that I like enough to pull the trigger. This past week, I stumbled upon this one, and I scored it for 70% off! It’s sleek, feminine, and simply stunning. Plus it’s filled with tiny little rhinestones … can you say luxe?? And beautiful! Unfortunately, it just sold out 🙁 … BUT, I did find a few other gorgeous options here and here (under $10, seriously!).
I kept that theme going with the my gold knot bangle (another favorite of mine), sleek watch, gold aviators, a classic neutral bag …. and that’s it. I wanted the look to be somewhat minimalist, but still interesting. In my view, the most elegant and stylish women are always the ones who keep it simple.
Details on my entire look are below, and stay tuned for another great transition look coming this Friday — it’s all about some simple layering 🙂 AND, don’t miss my interview memo post tomorrow under the balance tab — tips and advice for landing the job!
And in the meantime, I’d love to hear about your go-to transition piece for the summer/fall months, so send me a note or leave a comment.
Have a great rest of the week everyone 🙂
yours,
Kristin
