Happy Friday All!
I’ve been waiting all week to share this post with you — it’s my favorite so far. This dress is phenomenal! It meets all four elements of my philosophy on dressing — it’s comfortable, practical, affordable, and beautiful!
Last weekend Jacob and I had the pleasure of attending one of our close friend’s graduation ceremonies, and I thought this dress would be perfect for the occasion! It’s classic, sophisticated, and comfortable. I sat through the ceremony and a lengthy brunch without any discomfort, so I was able to focus on the most important thing of the day — celebrating our friend and enjoying his and his wife’s company! The only problem I ran into, completely my own fault, was that I didn’t know the wind would be out of control. So, let’s just say I’m really glad I brought a cardigan along, otherwise I may have frozen to death! But, in the end it all worked out because it did make for some beautiful pictures — I never thought wind could make my hair look so artistic and cool 🙂
In terms of affordability, for the amount of wear you’ll get out of it, this dress was a steal! And it just happens to be on sale now (link in outfit description below).
As with all the items I feature on the blog, there are endless ways to style this beauty. Once again, I chose to keep it simple and classic, but you can take this dress many different directions. Ditch the bow tie waist, add a woven straw belt and some espadrilles and you’re good to go for an afternoon BBQ. Add a leather jacket, your fiercest stilettos, and a red lip and it’s date night. Or throw on some classic pumps and a blazer and it’s off to work. It may be one of the most diverse pieces in your closet!
There’s only one thing I would caution against — I wouldn’t wear anything red (red shoes, red jacket, etc.) — you run the risk of looking Minnie Mouse-ish. Don’t get me wrong, she’s cute, but I doubt that’s the look you’re going for. But if it is, do your thing, I won’t judge! 🙂
Tell me how you’d style yours. As always, I’d love to hear from you.
yours, Kristin
