Happy Thursday All!
Fall is in full swing, and I’m loving it! The suede boots came out, sweaters were unpacked, and I’m ready for pumpkin patches and apple picking. How about you? I spent about 5 hours cleaning out my closet, creating a donation pile, taking stock of what I have and what I need, and organizing all of it. I don’t know about you, but when I walk into my closet and everything is in it’s proper place, and all my items are easily visible and accessible, I feel so much calmer. My husband can live in chaos. I don’t know how the man does it … if my environment is chaotic, my mind feels like a cluttered mess! But these seasonal transitions are a great time to review what you have in your closet, get rid of superfluous items (if you haven’t worn it in 3 months, and it’s not a special occasion item, donate it!), and identify any items that need replacing or new items to purchase. Check out the original Essential 25 Post here, if you need a quick reminder.
So without further ado, lets dive into Look No. 6. I added in some fun extras to the mix today –specifically, these gorgeous suede boots and a lovely floral skirt — but, as always, I make sure even my “extras” are super versatile. This skirt was purchased over the summer, and it was wonderful with a soft tank top and sandals. It will take me into fall (such as with boots here, or sneakers and a cozy sweater). The boots are great for fall and winter, and go with skirts, dresses, jeans, you name it. I love the scrunched effect of these in particular — they have a very vintage vibe. If you’d prefer a flat version, these are gorgeous. I also swapped my stud earrings for some gold hoops.
For the rest of the look, I stuck with our essentials — white button down, neutral handbag, and a classic pair of signature sunglasses (I included a few options for you below — a timeless pair and some trendier ones). For your white button-down shirt, I encourage you to invest in a couple different options. Sometimes a fitted, more streamlined look is what you’re after, other times, you want carefree and laid-back. Here, I’m wearing a relaxed version. If you’re looking for a tailored option, this is one of my favorites.
Finally, I grabbed a vintage bracelet (it was my mothers, but she was so generous to give it to me after learning how much I adore it) to complete the look. Aside from my essential 25 diamond and pearl studs, my jewelry collection is quite simple: gold hoops, paperclip gold chain, engraved locket, engraved mother of pearl charm, simple watch, and a small handful of vintage bracelets. Much like my closet, I like my jewelry simple, elegant, and meaningful. I love hunting for vintage pieces, but I’m very choosy, so I rarely purchase anything unless I’m sure I’ll wear it regularly.
There’s a variety of similar cloisonné bracelets available on Etsy — you can check them out here. I also linked to a few vintage-like bracelets below — they’re not true vintage, but the design appears as such.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! And be sure to check back on Sunday for a new Sunday Post.
